Baltimore, MD (June 4, 2024)—Astriata, an award-winning creative agency specializing in human insights, research, design, and website development, is honored to announce it’s the recipient of four distinguished awards by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). The Academy’s 30th Annual Communicator Awards recognized Astriata’s projects for Excellence & Distinction. Selected from over 3,000 global entries, Astriata’s projects showcase three of the main verticals the company is known for: professional associations, government, and education. Astriata’s victories highlight the company’s strength in creating sites that resonate with their audiences by effectively communicating message and brand. The selected projects also underscore the importance of users being able to find information quickly, which is a priority for Astriata.
The winning projects were:
Award of Excellence for General-Magazine – PEO Insider
PEO Insider is a print magazine distributed by the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO). NAPEO, an existing client, came to Astriata for assistance to take their print magazine into the digital realm. Astriata’s reimagining of PEO Insider capitalized on the possibilities available through an online (vs. print) medium, providing users with a top-notch digital experience.
Award of Distinction for General-School or University – Black Hole Initiative
Astriata was chosen to redesign the Black Hole Initiative website to promote research, education, and awareness of black holes. The Black Hole Initiative is the first research center in the world to focus on the study of black holes. In undertaking this redesign project, Astriata focused on generating excitement and promoting further research among a multidisciplinary community of researchers, academics, astronomers, mathematicians, and the public.
Award of Distinction for General-Government – New Mexico Courts
The Judicial Branch of New Mexico selected Astriata to transform their main website New Mexico Courts, along with over forty subsites. The judiciary sought to redesign all aspects of its website and subsites to enhance discoverability, accessibility and efficiency across the statewide judicial system. Astriata streamlined the site’s structure and improved content visibility, facilitating access to court information and services, and ultimately, improving overall court operations. This redesign has benefitted all users and especially those in rural areas who no longer need to travel a great distance to visit their courts in person.
Award of Distinction for General Government – OKI Regional Council of Governments
Astriata successfully completed a transformative redesign of the OKI website by elevating the online experience for site visitors and positioning the site to bolster economic development. Astriata created a modern design and internal processes were streamlined by implementing a more flexible page editor. The resulting website ensures effortless navigation and an overall superior user experience.
“The entries into this season of The Communicator Awards were such a great representation of our three decades celebrating innovation and creativity in all forms of communication. I couldn’t have wished for a more diverse and brilliant body of work to be placed in our jurors’ capable hands,” said AIVA Managing Director Lauren Angeloni. “I want to congratulate all of the honorees for their well-deserved wins. I also would like to extend sincere thanks to our jurors, who always put so much time and heart into the review process.”
